Late spring cleaning
I wasn't really in the mood to go anywhere today so I decided to stay in ad do some late spring cleaning. I'm embarassed to say that it took me a good portion of the day to go through my stitching stuff..LOL! I can't beleive how much stuff I have! It's never ending too. I still think (know) that I need more. It's an addiction I tell ya. I guess I should've said it's a terrible addiction but it's not. It's a wonderful addiction! Don't ask Mike though, he wouldn't agree..lol! Every time he's around and I need to order threads for something, he's amazed that I don't already have them. Little does he know just how many there are out there for me to collect :). Personally, I think he should be counting his lucky stars that I don't care to stitch with silk. Most of those puppies run between $4-$6 per skein. For the most part I stitch with DMC which is $.30 cents a skein here however, I've been finding myself more interested in stitching with Sampler threads and Weeks Dye Works lately. I can't get those here, I have to order them. They're $2 per skein which is a lot better than the $4-$6 per skein of silk but can still add up quickly if you need to buy several for a particular chart. For a while I belonged to a thread of the month club. I'd pay $10 a month and they'd send me 5-7 skeins and this is how I've built up this nice little collection I have. There are SO many colors though, I'm far from completing the collection. This being the reason I'm always having to order. I don't really have to order..I could convert and just use the DMC. The overdyed threads are just so darn pretty! Overdyed threads are to me like balloons or candy are to children...LOL :). I'm feeling a little better today but am still incredibly blue over yesterday's events.

I've seen better days
Today has definately not turned out like I had hoped it would. Mike's off today so I thought we'd all hang out together and cook out for dinner. Today is definately an "off" day. The morning went ok and then my mom called around 11-ish to ask me if I'd go with her to take her oldest dog to the vet. He's been really sick and lethargic for the past couple of days. When she picked me up and I saw him I knew he wasn't doing well at all. She seemed to think they could give him some medicine to make him better but I knew that probably wasn't gonna happen. He's a 14 year old Chiuahua named Boots. I bought him right after DH and I got married. We were renting a house and our landlords went way up on the rent after our lease was up so we had to move. We had a hard time finding a place that we could afford that would allow pets so I gave him to my mom and dad. Anyway, we get to the vet and they so some blood work on him. They told us that he was having kidney failure and his pancreas wasn't working properly. He was definately miserable, I could see that by looking at him. She ended up having him put to sleep. I feel completely horrible for her. She lost her 14 year old Pomeranian just a few months ago. She was just so devastated she couldn't stay in the room so she went outside and I stayed with him until he was gone :(. Definately not a fun thing to do. I am however glad that Mike was off today and could stay home with the kids so I could go with her. She does have her other 2 little Pomeranians at home so hopefully they will help her to feel better soon. One is only 6 months old, so hopefully he'll keep her busy. Poor Joshua, I feel so bad for him! Cassie is sad that Boots is gone but oh my goodness! Joshua is just devastated! I'm not really sure how to make him feel better. I've tried but I don't think it's working.
Now I have a little rant. I'm so annoyed! You know the piece I've been mentioning that I'm feverishly stitching on? Well, it's a gift for a friend. I had to order all of the threads for the piece as they all caled for sampler threads. Now I have quite a collection of sampler threads, it just so happens I didn't have any of the colors I needed for this piece (as usual!). Before I ordered them I double checked to make sure that it said there was only 1 skein needed of each color. I stayed up really late last night stitching on this and was really excited because I just *knew* I was going to finish it today. I got up early this morning to work on it and as I was stitching away I noticed my skein of Old Brick was getting really low. I thought for sure I'd have enough since the book didn't say 2 skeins were needed. Nope! I ran out of that darn color so now have to order another one. The entire piece is finished except for one section that needs that color. I'm very careful with not wasting thread so there's now way I could've stretched that out. There's a pretty large section that still needs to be stitched. There's no way 1 skein would have been enough. 2 skeins are definately needed for that piece and I really wish they would've made a note of that in the book. I don't have a needlework shop here so have to order it. It'll probably be another week before I get it. The closest shop is in Arlington but I won't order it from her. She won't let me order if my purchase is less than $10. So much for finishing it today.....I don't think it would have bothered me so much if I wasn't already having such a crummy day.

My new stitching buddy
It looks like I have a new stitching buddy! I taught Cassie to cross stitch the end of last summer. She did ok with it but had trouble with using the needle threader and beginning and ending her threads. After school started she was always too busy doing school things to bother having a go at stitching again. She asked about stitching again recently so before school let out I kitted up several small & easy designs for her. I put them all in a plastic box along with her own pair of scissors and a needlecase with needles. I gave it to her this morning and she was really excited. So excited in fact that she picked one of the little kits out and started stitching away on it. She got a little frustrated with threading the needle at first but she got the hang of it pretty quick. She does really well with starting and finishing her thread this time around too. The piece she's working on now is the little fish from The Trilogy's Seaology chart. I think she wants to stitch the crab as soon as she finishes this one. She's so cute....she wants me to sit at the kitchen table when I stitch so she can stitch besdie me :). I spent a nice amount of the day stitching as well. It was a good day for that since it was stormy. I'm still working on that same piece I mentioned earlier. We did venture out to the mall for a bit and went out to dinner with my parents for my mom's birthday. Happy birthday, mom! I've been working on my Chicago plans and think I have a pretty good itenerary planned out. I'm really looking forward to that trip! I'm still really afraid of getting on that plane though......

Finally a day to rest....
We're having a lazy day today and I'm really enjoying it! I've spent quite a bit of time stitching. I'm working on a piece for a friend. I love the design and the designer but it seems to be coming along slowly and I have no idea why. I'm seeing a lot of progress today. If I could get 2 or 3 good days of stitching in I could get it done. It may be that it seems like it's taking a while because I've been so busy lately and haven't had a lot of stitching time. It just seems like I started it a while ago and it should be done. My mom's birthday is tomorrow so I made her a birthday cake today. It's a coconut supreme cake. Isn't it pretty?
I was going to take it to her tomorrow but got the urge to today and I'm so glad I did. When I gave it to her she told me she had just gone out and bought the goodies to make herself a coconut cake. Did I get that cake choice right or what?! I'm glad I didn't wait till tomorrow because she would've had 2! I also picked up a bouquet of miniature roses for her on the way to her house. Tomorrow we'll be going out to dinner with them for her b-day. I'm thinking I might have to stop back by her house for a piece of that cake :). I just ordered our Rangers tickets for the 4th of July game. We're really excited about that! We went last year and had the best time. They have a really amazing fireworks show after the game. They don't even have a fireworks show here so we must venture off to find the festivities.

School's out!!!
And I am ssssssssssoooooooooooo happy about that! No more waking up at 6:15 for me for the next 3 months!! I'm catching up on my sleep! There has been a serious lack of that lately. My first order of business...I'm not doing a darn thing that's productive until next Tuesday except for making sure everyone's fed, bathed, and the dishes are done. I take that back...I need to bake my mother's birthday cake tomorrow and we're going out to dinner for the occasion as well. Other than that I fully intend on spending a great deal of time stitching the next 3 days. I've not had a chance to pop in the past few days so let's see if I can catch up shall we? First, Cassie's awards ceremony at school was Wednesday morning. She received second place in school wide writing, received a certificate for being on the all A honor roll, and received another award for getting all A's in conduct. Yesterday was field day so we were up at the school for a good part of the day. It started storming early so they had to move the festivities inside. Joshua's teacher about drove me nuts....she's one of those people who you can only stand to be with for very small amounts of time. She's very spacey too. For example, we could be having a very serious conversation with her. Something to the effect of, "Joshua's really not doing well in reading". She'd say..... "Joshua's really not doing well in reading so...Oh my gosh I love your earrings, where did you get those?" It drives me nuts! About the middle of the school year she was talking to a parent when I walked in and in the middle of their conversation she walked away to ask me where I got my lipstick, what brand it was, and what the name of the color was. It's just insane...lol.

Before we went up to field day, I was able to snag a couple of pics of my new friends. Aren't they cute?! I've noticed them in the neighborhood a lot lately. When I got back from taking the kids to school, they were laying under our tree in the front yard. I decided to feed them and they were very appreciative.

Our kids have an addiction and need help I think. I wonder if there's a support group for kids who are addicted to Webkinz? Most of what they have they received as gifts or saved their money for them. Yes, we make our kids work for their allowance. We don't just hand out money. This way they're more careful about what they spend their money on and they can appreciate that they earned the money for what they're buying. IMO, spoiled kids who don't have to work for anything and are just handed everything don't end up to be very good people. Anyway, we have bought a couple for them just because. In fact we did that just today...lol! I'd like to think of them as a "you did really great in school this year and we're really proud of you" gift. As of today, we've added a spotted frog named Mr. Speckles to the collection and a Clydesdale Horse named Petunia. Now, how happy do they look? The sad thing is, I really like them too. I don't know if it's the kids that want to collect them or if it's really me. Maybe I'm the one with the problem..lol!
The people who created these things are probably rolling around in their money as we speak.
I just got word that a stitching friend of mine received the gift I stitched for her for her birthday so now I can post a pic. One of her favorite colors is gree so I stitched a needlebook for her using a variegated thread from DMC in shades of green on a light green fabric. I hope you had a really great birthday, Juli!

Well, I'm off to see about dinner and then have a shower so I can do nothing the rest of the night. I've been so busy lately that I'm really looking forward to just doing whatever :)

There's a monster in our tree....
We have a really big tree in our backyard. A couple of days ago I noticed a bunch of leaves and little branches with leaves on the ground underneath it. I was telling Mike that it looked like an animal was up there. I just assumed one of the neighbor's cats was up there trying to get a bird. I see him on our roof often. I looked out the window earlier and there were a lot more leaves and branches on the ground than there were yesterday. Mike went out to gander around and came back in shortly to tell me he wanted to show me something. He pointed to the top of this really big tree and I have to tell ya, I was stunned to say the least. Up in that tree is the BIGGEST nest I've ever seen. I've never even seen pictures of one that big. The thing is just huge. I'm not kidding when I say one of our dogs (or 2!) would fit in that nest. It's not just made of twigs like most nests I've seen, this bird (monster!) tore up a section of the tree and used all of the leaves and branches to make it. It's a gigantic green nest. Curiosity is killing me...I wanna know what's up there. Whatever it is, it's big!! I took the binoculars out and looked (stared!) at it for a good half hour but I just couldn't see anything. I'm not leaving Dollie outside for long periods of time because I'm afraid whoever is up there is capable of swooping down and eating her...lol. I hope whoever's up there makes an appearance really soon because I'm terribly curious. I have noticed that all of the smaller birds are staying away from that tree..lol.
I had a nice breakfast with a friend this morning. She's moving on Friday. I'm really sad about that :(. Afterwards I had to do some shopping. My mother's birthday is on Sunday. Instead of buying something for her I think I'm gonna take her shopping. I did that last year and she had a really good time. I picked up a few little kits for the stitching box I'm putting together for Cassie for the Summer. I'm gonna kit up some other things this evening to put in there. I got her a pair of inexpensive embroidery scissors so she'll leave mine alone. Mine aren't very inexpensive you see, and don't have any business being in the hands of a 9.5 year old...lol. I've decided today that I might try to take up quilting. I'm still pondering the thought so don't get too excited :). I must scamper off and pick up the kiddos from school......

Hanging around.....
I'm just hanging out at home today since I have company. Mike took Joshua to the clinic yesterday because he hasn't been feeling well lately. They said he has an upper respiratory infection. He still wasn't feeling all that great when he woke up so he stayed home today. I finished up a gift for Cassie's teacher yesterday. I think it turned out so cute!! Whatcha think?
I didn't make one for Joshua's teacher. Really, I don't stitch too many gifts for people other than my stitching friends. Sadly, most people don't appreciate it. I love stitching gifts but have no desire to do so for someone who won't appreciate it. For the most part I think I can tell when someone would appreciate it and wouldn't. I know Cassie's teacher will love this but I think Joshua's teacher wouldn't appreciate it so much. I could be wrong but I don't think so. I stitch a lot of Christmas ornaments every year but am really apprehensive as to who I give them to. A friend once told me that she stitched an ornament for someone's tree and when she gave it to them the person informed her that it didn't match her Christmas tree decor. How sad is that?! If anyone said anything like that to me if I handed them a stitched gift (or any other gift for that matter!) I might be inclined to smack them..LOL! I can't post pictures of a lot of the things I've been stitching on here because they're gifts and the recipients gander around here :). I'm spending the day getting things done around here. I've got a fairly busy week. Besides all of my usual things, Cassie has an awards assembly at school (Her teacher told me she's getting an award for writing but she doesn't know so shhhhhhh...lol), she also has an ortho appt. this week, field day is Thursday (Mike's going with me to help, yay!), Joshua has a ball game this week...gosh what else...I'll have to look at my calendar. I hope everyone has a great week!

Had a really great day.....
We took the kids to see Shrek the Third this afternoon. They all really liked it, I just thought it was ok. I guess I wonder how many more they could possibly make. I've been wondering the same thing about Ocean's 13 that fixing to come out. I really like Oceans 11 and Oceans 12 was alright. I can't imagine Ocean's 13 being all that great. Afterwards we went out for burgers. Cassie and I brought Mike and Joshua home and then we had a shopping date. I bought her a new Summer dress and got myself some new shorts, a couple of pairs of capris, a couple of shirts and a new pair of earrings. One of the sirts I got is really cute and has some stuff written on it in French. Cassie asked me what it said and I told her I didn't have any idea. She then asked me if I was going to buy it. I said yes and then she asked, "What if that says something bad?" That was a good question I guess. I didn't even stop to wonder what it said. I just thought the thing was cute. I guess I should see about translating it before I wear it anywhere..lol. We had a very productive shopping trip and we had some very enlightening conversations. We did a lot of talking about our plans for the summer and are really excited about spending the next 3 months together :). Now if only I had that money tree out back to pay for all of it...LOL :).

I'm so glad it's Friday.....
I love Fridays because that means I get to spend time with my family. Unlike some mother's that I hear gabbing when I pick the kids up from school, I like being with my kids. I can't believe how many women I've heard complain that next week is that last week of school. I'm thrilled. They're away so much during the school year I really look forward to having them home for the 3 months. Tonight they're staying the night at my parents house and I'm going out with my best gal pal. Mike's working late tonight so I won't be missed. I'll be back before he gets home. Joshua was complaining of a sore throat earlier. I really hope he's not getting sick. I tried to get him to stay home but he protested so I just gave him some medicine instead. They've been planning this sleepover for a couple of weeks. I packed some medicine up for him and made him promise to call me if he started to feel worse. Have you ever noticed kids nearly always get sick on the weekend or on a holiday?

I should be a Nascar driver......
Because I can kick some serious booty behind the wheel! So it's behind the wheel of a go-cart but who cares! LOL! I can't do it in my car, I'd go to jail..LOL! I had the BEST time riding with the third graders today! I LOVE LOVE LOVE racing. And the best part is a lot of them remembered that I did it last year so they were arguing over who would ride with me...what fun!! I must've driven around that track 100 times before I hung my hat up. The only reason I did it then was because my arms hurt and my knees were getting cramps..LOL! I've decided if there's ever a time we're just rolling in $$$ that I need a pink race car. I wonder if Revlon, Oil of Olay, Dove, or someone else like that would sponsor me. How fun would that be?! If we were loaded you would so see me racing on TV wearing pink and racing in my pink race car....LOL! I need to get my head out of the clouds so I can get some things done I guess. Sometimes things are a lot more fun when your head is in the clouds aren't they? I'm a firm believer in that you can have just about anything you want if you try hard enough for it. Not everything but a lot of things. I'm not too sure about this pink race car thing though...this might be a tough one..lol :)

Feeling Blah....
No big reason really...just several little things. It's really gloomy outside and is fixing to rain so that doesn't help. I didn't sleep well last night either. I didn't get to bed until after 11 and besides getting up twice on my own, Joshua got me up 2 times as well. It also didn't help that Mike wanted to sleep like a starfish and kept smackin me. He's gonna have to watch that or he may accidentally roll off the bed...LOL! Good grief. I never felt like I fell in to a deep sleep. When I got up I felt like I had only been dozing all night. When I did get up I noticed all of the lights were on. I came in here to discover that Cassie was all ready for school. It was only 6:30 so who knows how long she had been up. There must have been something in the air. When I walked by the phone I noticed it said there was a missed call. I looked and Mike's buddy who has cancer called twice in the middle of the night. Mike tried to call him back but he didn't answer. He left a message for him but he hasn't called back. I hope he's ok. I really worry about him. One of my good friends is moving next week. I'm not happy at all about that :(. I think that's the main reason for my blah's today. I'm really sad that she's moving. On a happier note my best friend and I have a date Friday night so I'm really looking forward to that. We're gonna do some shopping and have dinner. Joshua is supposed to have a ball game tonight but I'm secretly hoping it gets rained out. I love watching him play, I'm just not really in a ball game kinda mood. I have an appt. tomorrow morning after I take the kids to school and then after that I'll be chaperoning another field trip. I'm REALLY looking forward to this one!! I have go cart duty!! YAY! Since the kids are under 10 they have to ride with an adult. I could ride those things all day long! Cassie's friends love riding with me. Way more fun than riding with a teacher....lol!

Mother's Day
Happy belated Mother's Day to all of my friends who are moms! Moms of both fur people and real people! LOL! I had a really good day :). The kids gave me a card and a really cute pair of earrings. They have little ceramic china birds dangling from them. They're really pretty :). I slept in and we went out to lunch. When we came back I took a cat nap which I never do so that was nice. Of course I paid for it last night because I couldn't sleep. That's one reason I try to never take naps. If I do I can't sleep at night. I just don't require a whole lot of sleep I guess. If/when I do take a nap I feel like I'm wasting time. I got to do a lot of stitching yesterday which was really nice. I've been working on several gifts this month. Mike took care of cooking dinner. We did a bit of gardening yesterday afternoon. Everyone thought it would be fun to plant watermelons and pumpkins so let's se how that comes out, shall we? LOL :). When I was a kid my mom planted watermelons in her garden one year and I recall it being a very scary thing...lol. I just can't picture a watermelon/pumpkin patch thing going on back here but the kids are really anxious to see what happens. I wasn't too anxious to do that but I know when they get older they'll remember the year that we planted watermelons and pumpkins. It's really good for them to have those memories :). I also planted some tomatoes for Cassie as well as a whole bed full of marigolds out front. There aren't too many things I can plant out there. I need something that requires full sun or they'll die. I really should have done this a month or 2 ago. Time seems to have really gotten away from me the past couple of months. As a matter of fact I need to scamper off and paint my face. I have a conference with Joshua's teacher this morning. Today's my cleaning day and I also want to finish the stitching on a gift for Cassie's teacher. Working last week was really nice but I'm glad to be home this week and am really thankful that I don't have to work and only do it because I want to :). It really doesn't even seem like work to me. It's almost like I'm getting paid to have fun...lol.

Mother's Day Tea with Cassie
I spent most of the day delivering flowers but had to leave a little early so I could head to the school for Cassie's 3rd grade Mother's Day tea. I wasn't disappointed that I had to leave early today. On really busy days like Valentine's Day, ect...I end up with a delivering partner. Another girl who delivers had to have some medical tests run today so she had one of her husbands friends come in to take her place. The guy that ended up coming along with me about got on my ever loving last nerve. I think I could tell you every sad/depressing/unfortunate thing that has ever happened to him (and apparently there's a lot!!). I thought it to be a little odd he was telling me this the first day I meant him! Most of the deliveries were for Mother's Day but we did have to run to 2 funeral homes. One piece to be delivered was a casket piece. He made a big "to do" out of the fact that he didn't want to go in to the funeral home. Ok, ya know what???...I don't like funeral homes either but the people have to have their flowers. The big weenie...I hope he was temporary....
Anyway, Cassie's tea was a lot of fun! She made a book for me which was very very neat! There are lots of stories and letters and things in it. I think my favorite story is " My mom goes batty when..." She says "My mom goes batty when she gets the electric bill" How funny is that?! LOL!! The whole story is about how batty I get when the bill comes in....LOL! Here's a pic her teacher took of us today at the tea.
We had a really good time :). In the future I'll have to be sure to open the elctric bill when she's not around..LOL!
We're meeting Mike for dinner on his dinner break in a while and then the kids and I are going to do some paling around :).

Been playing with flowers....
I don't know how some women do it. I don't know how they can work full time, take care of the house and kids, take their kids to all of their extra things, and find time to exercise (or eat!). I've been really pooped. I'm not working today because I had promise Joshua I'd go on his field trip with him. Of course I don't know if they're even going (surely not!) because it's very wet outside, flooded in some places. It's past 9 and they're supposed to leave at 10:30 and his teacher still doesn't know if they're going. Now call me crazy but taking the whole kindergarten to a flooded park for a picnic isn't the most brilliant idea!! I'm not sure what there is to think about. She said she'd call me but I really doubt it. She's one of those people who says she'll do things but rarely does. I'll go back up there and see. Anyway, I'll be back up at the shop tomorrow. I have SO much fun working up there! I think I'm delivering Mother's Day flowers all day tomorrow. I helped with arrangements yesterday and went on a couple of deliveries. One of the houses I went to looked like the White House. I really like delivering to those places because they ask you to bring the flowers in for them so I get to see the insides :). WOW. You wouldn't believe the insides of some of these houses. On Tuesday I worked on a piece for a funeral. I was really happy to work on that one. It was on an easel and was a double heart filled with flowers. It was for a mother from her children. Really really sad. I'm looking forward to going back and playing with the flowers again tomorrow. I laugh so hard when I'm up there with them I've thought I cracked ribs a couple of times...LOL. I have a new appreciation for flowers now that I know how much the good ones cost...lol.

Probably won't be around much this week....
Since Mother's Day is Sunday I'll be working all of this week starting tomorrow. I was needed today but Joshua had an ear appt. It took a lot longer than I had thought so he just stayed home today. Anyway I'm really glad I'm working this week! I think I'm helping in the shop Tues- Thurs. and then delivering flowers on Friday and Saturday. I'm putting all of that money back for my trip to Chicago next month. I feel a lot better when I can earn some money myself because I feel badly when I do things big like taking trips ect...without Mike and the kids. I don't feel as bad if I'm taking care of some of it. Mike takes care of it fine, it's just a me thing :). I guess I feel like I'm taking away from them when I spend it on myself. Speaking of Mike and money, you know what really bugs me? When someone says he's cheap. Mike's not cheap. Let me point a few things out here. I'm a stay at home mom, we live in a really nice quiet neighborhood, we have 2 cars, we go on vacations, we go out together often..well I could go on for hours here. He's not cheap, he's smart. When I work, I don't work because I have to, I work because I want to. If he wasn't smart, I'd be working because I had to and we'd be in debt like half the nation. In fact, I think I'm the only person on the entire block that's home during the day. I'm off to finish laundry and cleaning since I probably won't get much done here the rest of the week. I'll pop in when I can :)

Birthday party day!

If I had a hammock.....
I'd be perched out in the backyard right now! It's SO pretty outside! The high today is supposed to be 92. So far I've spent the first part of the day cleaning, doing laundry, and getting things ready for Joshua's party tomorrow. I've got all of the windows open and the air is off but let's see how long that'll last, shall we? LOL :). Joshua's ball team is having their ball pics made at 5 and then he has a game right after that. Mike should get off work shortly after that. I think he wants to take them to Chuck E Cheese tonight. He worked different hours this week. He usually doesn't get home until really late so it's not very often that we get to go out together during the week. There's only 3 weeks left of school and they look like pretty busy days. Lots of field trips and outings between the 2 kiddos. Of course I'll be tagging along with them :).

Busy, Busy, Busy
At 11:30 this morning, Joshua turned 6! I took him lunch and ice cream at school today and then surprised Cassie with ice cream too. After that I went to pick up cupcakes for his class and then took those up there at 2:30. Here's what I learned today:
Never ever ever take cupcakes to a class full of 5 and 6 year olds that are covered in bright blue icing! Not a good idea!!! Yes, they're very pretty BUT their mouths, faces, tongues, and teeth were VERY blue when they left school. I took off with Joshua before any of their parents could catch me..LOL!
After we got home from school my parents came over to see him. Shortly after that Mike got home. Joshie opened his gifts and then we went out to dinner. He had a really great day and is thrilled that he's 6 :). He's having a bowling party on Saturday with a few friends and is really excited about that :)

Now that's just wrong....
So, I just got back from picking the kids up from school a bit ago. Cassie had told me she wanted to try out for choir next year. She had her audition today. She said she doesn't know how she did or when they'd find out who did/didn't make it. She then went on to tell me that one of her friends auditioned as well and when he was singing one of the teachers (judges I guess) turned her head and started laughing! Can you believe that?! That could traumatize a kid! Good grief! Some people! She's been watching too much American Idol or something.. Anyway....
I'm feeling a lot better than I did earlier. I took a little cat nap and then wrapped Joshua's b-day presents. Guess what?! I'm so excited!! One of my good stitching friends lives in Wisconsin and will be taking the train in to Chicago while I'm there so we can spend part of the day together. How great is that?! I'm really excited that I get to give her birthday present to her in person instead of mailing it :)

My tonsils hurt
That's not a really good way to start off the day is it? My throat doesn't hurt it's my tonsils, and mostly on the right side. If you would've talked to me a year or so ago then I would've told you I was planning to have them out this year. Plans change though..lol. After the wisdow tooth extraction from Hell, I've decided if it's not cosmetic or life threatening then I'm not having it removed..lol! I don't think I'm getting strep throat because they started hurting last night. Usually if I'm getting strep it comes along really quickly. I really didn't want to get up this morning. I did manage to drag myself to the grocery store. Joshua's b-day is tomorrow so I had to get drinks and put in the cupcake order for his class. His party's not until Saturday so I had to do something special for tomorrow :). I think we're giving him his gifts tomorrow but Cassie wants to save the gift she got for him for his party. I had planned on doing some Mother's Day shopping today but I'm just feeling blah. It's supposed to be stormy again today. It's a really good day to stitch, I just wish I felt like it.
